● 2000. Ph.D. (January 1997 - May 2000), University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Louisiana USA. Dissertation title: "Phylogeny of the marine red algal family Delesseriaceae (Ceramiales, Rhodophyta)" (Supervisor: Dr. S. Fredericq).

● 1996. Masters by Research (January 1995 - May 1996), Botany School, the University of Melbourne, Australia. Thesis title: "Morphology and taxonomy of the genera, Womersleya, Hemineura and Schizoseris (Delesseriaceae, Rhodophyta) from southern Australia" (Supervisor: Dr. G.T. Kraft)
